Capital One announced today they are closing 12 branches in Louisiana in response to COVID-19.   Check with your financial institution for their hours of operation and continuity plans.

Guidance from the federal government and CDC is rapidly evolving.  For our state, Governor Edwards called upon all Louisianans to come together to do our part to slow the spread of coronavirus—to flatten the pandemic curve, as the experts say—and help keep our most vulnerable neighbors and loved ones safe.  When we look at what has worked in stopping the spread of COVID-19 in other countries, it’s protective actions to create social distance. This is why the Governor took aggressive action this past week. This virus spreads easily and swiftly. To stop it we could all use some personal space. Public health experts say six feet minimum.   While those who are older and those who have underlying chronic medical conditions – meaning lung disease, heart disease and diabetes – are at the greatest risk, we ALL can be become exposed to and spread COVID-19 to our friends, our family and our communities. We must all be vigilant.

LA Department of Health www.ldh.la.gov/corornvirus updates their website twice per day at 9:30am and 5:30pm.    211 is also operational.

 IMMEDIATE NEEDS:

– The state is still looking for STATEWIDE locations to house homeless populations that require isolation or quarantine.   Hotels or business structures that can accommodate housing are needed.    If you have a facility that meets this need please let the BEOC know.

– Updates on supply chain shortages – we are currently tracking grocery and pharmacy supply chain concerns and issue state wide.   This is a daily report to the Governor’s Office.

Thank you again for your support to the State of Louisiana during this crisis — we’re all in this together and we appreciate the private sector response and efforts!
